FLAKED

Set against the sun-soaked alleys of Venice Beach, California, FLAKED tells the story of a recovering alcoholic stuck in the past. For Netflix’s latest collaboration with series co-creators Will Arnett and Mark Chappell, we shot, designed and animated the opening title sequence. The lo-fi/anachronistic motion of a “moving panorama” is combined with a series of staccato-animated stills of Chip riding his bike. Painterly vignettes from the rapidly changing streets of Venice are brought to life – setting the scene for the story.

After successfully collaborating on the show open we were asked back to complete VFX work on the entire first season.
