RIVAL SURVIVAL
In the debut episode, ‘rivals’ Sen. Jeff Blake (R-Ariz.) and Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) are set upon a deserted South Pacific island where they must work together to survive a week of isolation using limited resources. By the end of their ordeal, these politicians-turned-survivalists take “reaching across the aisle” to a whole new level.
In collaboration with Renegade 83, we created a dynamic opening title sequence and show package. We shot green screen footage and composited it into an abstract, Rorschachian landscape that is revealed through staccato cuts. This resulted in a grungy, dream-like title sequence which plays up the duplicity of images. Facial features are superimposed to form island landscapes that trick the eye before revealing the final main title.
