MICHAEL STEVENS UNLIMITED

Michael Stevens, creator and star of the science-factoid centric Youtube Channel Vsauce did a pilot for his very own television series that would address and expand upon the questions about perception, physics, culture, space, human behavior, art, and knowledge that his wildly popular Vsauce videos covered. The series would explore topics like ‘What is Random?”, “Why Do We Kiss?” and “What if Everyone Jumped at Once?” and come up with answers using Michael’s unique brand of scientific inquiry. The pilot required a brain teasing, eye-catching and playful main title that perfectly captured the tone and flavor of the series.

We worked with Whalerock Industries, creating several main title concepts to brand the show. The winning concept gave a nod to the story of Atlas, with Michael lifting a ‘celestial sphere’ of sorts after splashes of paint, ink-drawn dots and fine lines whipped madly through a blank canvas of space. The motion of these handmade shapes gives an impression of darting molecules and big-bang-like explosions before resolving to a bold and simple typographic main title.
